Legal Information
Overview
MXI Express Firmware includes firmware for the PXIe-83XX PXI Remote Control Modules. The firmware helps you set up and control how the PXIe-83XX series operates.
System Requirements
MXI Express Firmware 2022 Q3 has the following requirements:

MXI Express Firmware 2022 Q3 supports the following operating systems:
Windows 10
Note Product no longer supports any 32-bit Windows operating system. Refer to Unsupported Windows Operating Systems for more information about support for Microsoft Windows OSes.
Installation Instructions
Download the corresponding MXI Express firmware installer from ni.com/downloads.
Do NOT turn off or interrupt the system during the firmware update!
Download and save firmware image to the system containing the remote controller(s) to be updated.
On the system, run NI Measurement & Automation Explorer as Administrator.
Each controller must be updated separately. For each controller to be updated:
Locate and expand the chassis containing the remote controller to be updated.
Select the remote controller in the left most pane, then click the Update Firmware button in the right pane.
Navigate to and select the firmware image file saved in Step 1, then click the Open button.
A dialog box should open containing information about the firmware image selected.
Confirm the version number displayed is as you expected.
If the version is as you expected, select the Begin Update button.
If the version is not as you expected, select the Cancel button and confirm the download in Step 1.
After several minutes, a dialog box should appear:
If the dialog states "The firmware update completed successfully", power cycle the remote controller by following the additional instructions in the dialog box.
If the dialog states that an issue occurred, record the error number/message and Contact NI.
Note, firmware is updated on the hardware itself, so once updated the MXI Express device can be moved to different systems while still retaining the update.

Unsupported Windows Operating Systems
Product no longer supports Windows Vista/XP/7/8.x, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, or any 32-bit Windows operating system. Versions of this product that ship after May 1, 2021, may not install or execute correctly on these operating systems. NI No Longer Supports Phar Lap ETS Real-Time Operating SystemInclude this section if your product supports Phar Lap ETS.
NI Software no longer supports Phar Lap ETS Real-Time Operating System. Versions of this product that ship after May 1, 2022, may not install or execute correctly on this operating system. For high-level information on the support roadmap for Phar Lap and its replacement, NI Linux Real-Time, visit ni.com/r/xf35k1.
