System Requirements
The Wireless Sensor Network Module has the following system requirements:
LabVIEW 2011 Base, Full, or Professional Development System (32-bit)
NI WSN-9791 Ethernet Gateway, NI 9792 WSN Real-Time Gateway, or NI 9795 C Series WSN Gateway
NI WSN-32xx WSN Nodes
Supported Operating Systems
The Wireless Sensor Network Module supports the following operating systems:
Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Windows Vista with Service Pack 1.0 (32-bit)
Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (32-bit)
Windows Server 2003 R2 (32-bit)
The Wireless Sensor Network Module does not support Windows NT/Me/98/95/2000, Windows Server non-R2 editions, or the Windows Server 2008 R2 edition. If you install the Wireless Sensor Network Module on a 64-bit operating system, the module runs as a 32-bit program.
Refer to the documentation for your NI Wireless Sensor Network devices for information about system requirements for hardware devices.
Installing the Wireless Sensor Network Module
Complete the following steps to install the Wireless Sensor Network Module.
Log in as an administrator or as a user with administrator privileges.
Install LabVIEW, if not already installed. Refer to the LabVIEW Release Notes for standard LabVIEW installation instructions.
Insert the NI LabVIEW Wireless Sensor Network Module CD. If the installer does not automatically begin, double-click autorun.exe on the CD to begin installation.
Follow the instructions on the screen for installing the Wireless Sensor Network Module.
Activate the Wireless Sensor Network Module.
You must activate the Wireless Sensor Network Module before you can build VIs into WSN applications. The Wireless Sensor Network Module runs in evaluation mode if you do not activate it. You also can use the NI License Manager, available by selecting Start»All Programs»National Instruments»NI License Manager, to activate National Instruments products. Refer to the National Instruments License Manager Help, available by selecting Help»Contents in the National Instruments License Manager, for more information about activating NI products.
Restart the computer when the installer completes.
Install and configure the NI Wireless Sensor Network devices. Refer to the NI Wireless Sensor Network Devices Getting Started Guide manual for installation instructions.
Notice Regarding Microsoft Silverlight Installation and RedistributionInstalling Microsoft Silverlight
Some NI components require Microsoft Silverlight. If you do not have Silverlight installed on your computer, but you do have Internet access, you can download the installer from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/. If you do not have Internet access, you can install Silverlight from this NI distribution media.
Using Microsoft Silverlight
You may not use any H.264/MPEG-4 AVC and/or VC-1 technology or codecs included in or with Microsoft Silverlight software which may be provided by NI as Third Party Software, including for the purpose of encoding or decoding video in compliance with, or making use of, the H.264/AVC visual standard or the VC-1 video standard.
Redistribution of Microsoft Silverlight
If you create and distribute software applications that contain NI components that also use Microsoft Silverlight, you may be authorized to include Silverlight in installers or on physical media as long as you comply with certain requirements. Refer to the notice.txt file in the \_Legal Information\Microsoft Silverlight 4.0 directory or the NI standard End User License Agreement (EULA) located in the \Shared\MDF\EULAs\NIReleased directory for more information.
