Overview
The Battery Test System Software Toolkit is a software add-on that extends the NI platform to test electric vehicle (EV) battery packs and modules. The Battery Test System Software Toolkit helps you optimize your battery test workflow.
New Features
Battery Test System Software Toolkit 2022 Q2 Patch 1 includes the following new features:
Added XNET database support
Improved SystemLink support for better performance, including permitting only select channels to be published as tags
Added option to Embedded Data Logger to attach test related metadata to the log files
Improved Black Box Recorder support so that the diagnostic file is attached to the SystemLink test results associated with a Test Plan

Battery Test System Software Toolkit 2022 Q2 Patch 1 has the following minimum requirements:
2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor or equivalent
At least 4 GB of RAM
At least 1 GB of hard drive disk space
TestStand 2021 (64-bit)
VeriStand 2021
Supported Operating Systems
Battery Test System Software Toolkit supports Windows 10 (64-bit).
Installation Instructions
The Battery Test System Software Toolkit installs automatically when you install Battery Test System Software with default settings. You can also download the Battery Test System Software Toolkit separately from ni.com/downloads. NI software includes NI Package Manager to handle the installation. Refer to the NI Package Manager Manual for more information about installing, removing, and upgrading NI software using NI Package Manager.
Note Use the serial number that is listed on the Certificate of Ownership that shipped with your system to activate Battery Test System Software Toolkit. For more information on Battery Test System Software Toolkit activation, refer to Activating a Product.

Accessing Custom Devices
The Battery Test System Software Toolkit provides several custom devices for you to design and implement applications.
To access the Battery Test System Software Toolkit Custom Devices for VeriStand in your project, open the System Explorer window from VeriStand Editor, navigate to Targets»Controller»Custom Devices, and right-click Custom Devices. Select one of the following custom devices from the shortcut menu:

Network DAQ
SystemLink
Scan Engine and EtherCAT
For general information about each custom device, select the appropriate custom device from the System Explorer window in VeriStand Editor. For more information about how to use each custom device with the Battery Test System Software Toolkit, refer to the Battery Test System User Manual.
Automating the Installation of NI Products
You can automate the installation of most NI products using command-line arguments to suppress some or all of the installer user interface and dialog boxes.
If the NI product you are installing uses Microsoft .NET 4.6.2, the .NET installer may run before any NI software installs and may require a reboot before the installation of NI software begins. To avoid a .NET reboot, install .NET 4.6.2 separately before you install NI software.
